Profession

Senior Policy Researcher (Adaptation)

Research Topics:

Adaptation to climate change: Adaptive policies, agriculture, climate risk management, adaptation in post-2012 climate regime*

The impacts of climate change would continue to be felt tens and hundreds of years down the line even if we bring down the GHG gas emissions to the levels suggested by the IPCC necessitating adaptation today. While adaptation needs to happen on the ground and at the local levels, the change also needs to reflect at the policy level. As a part of this vibrant team of climate policy, I aim to design and implement projects and programs that help understand the way adaptive policies can be made and implemented, how to measure adaptation (and adaptive capacity), how international policy environment can help encourage adaptation in those areas where it matters the most, research the current limitations in channeling sufficient funds for adaptation, and finally to bring relevant understanding from the disaster risk management to adaptive policy making.

What I believe:

There is a lot to say about what I believe in but space and time are constraints here! I believe in being true to myself and putting 100% in what I do. I believe that a best team can be built with the bondage of trust which in turn is made possible by practicing highest standards of work place ethics.
